Intellegal Wiki · In plain terms

A married couple's property arrangement is decided in a fixed order of priority: first, any prenuptial agreement (marriage settlement) signed before the wedding; if there is none, the rules of this Code; and only if neither applies, local custom. This tells couples and courts which source controls how their property is owned.
