The provision
Unless otherwise provided in this Chapter or in the marriage settlements, the community property shall consist of all the property owned by the spouses at the time of the celebration of the marriage or acquired thereafter. (197a)

Under the absolute community regime, unless the couple agreed otherwise, essentially everything each spouse owned at the time of the marriage, plus whatever either acquires afterward, is pooled into a single shared community of property. The result is that almost all their assets are jointly owned.
