Intellegal Wiki · In plain terms
Defines parricide: killing one's father, mother, or child (legitimate or illegitimate), any other ascendant or descendant, or one's spouse. Because of the close family relationship, it is punished far more severely than an ordinary killing.
An editorially maintained plain-language explanation of this provision — not legal advice.
As amended: the death penalty was abolished by RA 9346 (2006); where a provision would impose death, the maximum penalty is now reclusion perpetua.
