The law also provides a tiered system of protection orders to stop further abuse and safeguard the victim: a Barangay Protection Order (BPO) issued by the punong barangay, and a Temporary Protection Order (TPO) and a Permanent Protection Order (PPO) issued by the court. A support order issued in connection with a VAWC case is immediately executory and is not stayed by an appeal.
